Streszczenie
Eosinophilic gastroenteritis is a various and rare disease characterized by eosinophilic infiltrations in alimentary canal tissues. Location and depth of the infiltration determines
the variety of symptoms and is a basis to clasify it as mucous, muscle or serum form. Stomachache, vomiting, diarrhoea are immanent in circa 50% patients. Peripheral eosinophilic is visible in 2/ 3 of patients. In differentation one has to take into consideration parasitic infestation, connective tissue disease, inflammatory bowel disease, lymphoma. Gastroenteritis eosinophilic often coexists with alimentary allergy and atopic dermatitis. Family investigation for alimentary allergy is positive in about 70% of patients. The best way to recognise this disease is a biopsy thanks to which we can state whether there are eosinophilic infiltrations or not. This diagnosis can be restrained due to the segmental characteristics of the infiltration or the location in deeper layers /muscle and serum form/ which is inaccessible to the routine biopsy. In eosinophilic gastroenteritis treatment we usually employ corticosteroids, although treatment with sodium chromoglycate, leukotriene receptor antagonist or elimnation diet has also been successful.
