Introduction. Escherichia coli is a very dangerous pathogenic factor for the human organism which causes many serious diseases.
Material and methods. Own researches concerning the occurrence of Escherichia coli in human systemic fluids such as urine, blood, breathing secretion, which were made on the fluid samples of men and women of different ages.
Researches were carried out using microbiological method basing on microscopic features, macroscopic features and VITEK system. The aim of the researches was to define the occurrence of Escherichia Coli in human systemic fluids. Researches were made on the patients of Wojewodzkie Centrum Medyczne (Regional Medical Center) in Opole in the Department of Microbiology.
Results. Having tested human systemic fluids it was found out that Escherichia coli is present in urine more frequently than in other human systemic fluids. Estimating the age of the examined patients it was found out that Escherchia coli is more frequent among people over 40 and in the age range 0-11.
Analysing the sex and separate human systemic fluids it was pointed out that among the majority of women Escherichia coli is present in the urine whereas among the majority of men this bacterium is present in breathing secretions and blood.
Conclusions: Escherichia coli is a very frequent etiological factor of infections attacking both children and adults. It is present both among man and women. The reasons of Echerichia coli presence are both factors resulting from anatomic differences between the sexes as well as the economic features influencing the society.
