Streszczenie
Introduction: Free time and the way of its arranging concerns people at any age and can have either positive or negative impact on the man´s health condition. Properly measured physical activities and tiredness especially whilst being in the open air is the best medicine to all civilisation illnesses, and in particular because of overworking and degeneracy of motor organs. Little or no physical activities, sedentary lifestyle are due to a risk factor of the modern civilisation illnesses and spine pain most of all. The spine pain is one of the most common reasons of seeing a GP among patients. The frequency of spine pain appearance at the average sways between 50-90%. The aim of this piece of work is trying to show the relationship between the way of spending free time and the frequency of the spine pain appearance among the tested group of the girls living in the village.
Materials and methods: A survey was carried out on 189 girls at the age of 13-16 who attend two gimnasiums: in Janów Podlaski (n-79) and Cicibór Duży (n-110). The tool which was used in the survey was questionnaire including ten questions.
The results: Some spine problems of a different growth (appearing very seldom, few times a year, constantly) were reported by 158 (83,6%) tested girls. 13 (16,4%) of the girls have never experienced such pain in their lifetime. The pain was very often located in the lumbar region. The tested group of girls has got a tendency to a passive free time and a sedentary lifestyle.
Conclusion: Sedentary lifestyle has got a strong impact on the frequency of the spine pain appearance among the tested girls. Frequency of the spine pain among such young people should trigger of GPs and physical education teachers´ interest.
