The history of pain treatment is a tale of the search for a miraculous effective drug, which would allow to forget about our ailings and bring back joy of living. Today it is quite obvious that such a drug does not exist. Pain is an emotion brought on by noxious stimuli. In fact pain treatment is a multidisciplinary issue.
