Streszczenie
Osteoporosie as well as diabetes mellitus are one of the biggest epidemiological, sociological and economical problems of the XXI-century medicine. Common effects of diabetes mellitus on osteoporosis and vice versa constitute an increasing problem in the management of diabetes mellitus and diagnostics, prophylaxis and treatment of osteoporosis. Many metabolic abnormalities, including glycation, decreased level of sex steroids, abnormalities in Vit. C metabolism observed in diabetes could also be pathophysiological factros in osteoporosis. On the other hand methods of management of osteoporosis at some points are similar to typical trends of DM treatment.
