Summary
This report gives review of dermatoses occurring exclusively during pregnancy or in the immediate postpartum period. Etiopathology of these disorders is not yet fully elucidated however, immunologic, endocrine and vascular changes induced by pregnancy have to be involved. While the course of prurigo of pregnancy is usually benign other dermatoses are frequently associated with serious complications for mother and fetus. Therefore, only close cooperation between obstetrician and dermatologist gives chance of effective therapy of these disorders.
