Streszczenie
During the last years intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR) provokes graving interest of obstetricians and neonatologists. There are two reasons for this state of matters. First of all – an IUGR is a problem of contemporary perinatal medicine which is yet unsolved neither ethiopatological nor therapeuticaly. Secondly – IUGR, similarly as prematurity, is conected with a high perinatal mortality. Some of etiopathological conditions which lead to disturbancies in fetoplacental unit and in consequence to placental insufficiency have been shown. Additionally it was shown the socio-economical impact in the ethiopatogenesis of this complex, what up to this time was rather underestimated.
