Streszczenie
Seborrheic keratosis is one of the most common skin tumours. The treatment is not mandatory, considering its benign nature. However, in some cases, the seborrheic keratoses appear massively and in a sudden way.
The appearance of multiple seborrheic keratoses in association with an internal malignancy, especially of the gastrointestinal duct, breast and lung, is known as the sign of Leser-Trelat. We report the case of 65-year-old woman treated with surgery because of the colon adenoma. The diagnosis of tumour was preceded by rapid, severe onset of seborrheic keratoses limited to the face and neck. Skin lesions had appeared a few months before the resection of tumour and intensified after a surgery.
As the pathogenesis of Leser-Trelat sign is still unknown, it´s impossible to prove any close connection between these two afflictions. The deficiency of regression of the seborrheic keratoses following the surgical excision of tumour, observed in reported case, give rise to the existence of the additional triggering factors of the Leser-Trelat sign.
