Streszczenie
Nails similarly to hair are skin appendages in the form of pocket-like cavities at the end of the finger and toe tips with horny layer (stratum corneum) -firm nail keratin transformed into nails. Nail plate´s changes may be genetically conditioned, caused by inherited ceratosis disorders of the connected tissue, or may also be developed. Developed damages may be caused by harmful external-like factors (infection, harmful physical and chemical factors) or by the nail infusion into the dermatoses placed in the surroundings and also by harmful internal-like factors such as morbid processes relative to internal organs or insufficiencies. Often, the first signs of pathologies manifest them selves in nail plates. Knowledge of pathological nail changes is necessary for diagnosis of skin diseases as well as internal organ diseases.
