Psychospołeczne i demograficzne następstwa wczesnej inicjacji seksualnej nastolatków

Streszczenie
Observed in many western countries, social and demographic phenomena such as high risk of abortion and extramarital birth among adolescents, marriage breakdowns as well as low level of education of women who become mothers at an adolescent age are connected with early sexual initiation. Research carried out in the USA and in Western Europe indicates that psychological problems, depressions, suicidal thoughts and attempts may also be related to risky behaviours of adolescents and their early sexual activity.
Issues different than health related consequences of early sexual relationships are relatively infrequently discussed and still insufficiently researched in Polish academic literature. The objective of this article is to present possible consequences of early sexual initiation in demographic, psychological and social dimensions.
The paper uses data obtained during research performed on children, adolescents and adults since the beginning of the 1990s in Poland and in other western countries, as well as epidemiological data of the Polish Central Statistical Office and the Council of Europe.
