Streszczenie
About 56,8 million people suffer from glaucoma. The clinical signs of the illness can be various. The pathology of the optic nerve damage is multicausal, it depends on the high value of IOP and blood flow disorders. The aim of pharmacological treatment is to protect the optic nerve by lowering IOP and improving the blood flow. The following groups of drugs are most frequently used in the treatment of glaucoma: beta-blockers, carbonic abhydrase inhibitors, adrenergic agonists, miotics, prostaglandis. The mode of action, dosage, main indications treatment are presented.
