Streszczenie
Capillaroscopy is a non-invasive, simple and inexpensive method of assessment of microvascular abnormalities. Nailfold capillaroscopy is a very useful and well recognised examination in diagnosis of systemic sclerosis and secondary Raynoud´s phenomenon. Microvascular changes are considered to play an important role in the pathogenesis of psoriasis. Capillaroscopic studies of the psoriatic lesions reveal elongation, dilatation, twisting and winding loops around their apices. Moreover, there is an increase in capillary density in lesional and perilesional skin. There are conflicting data about nailfold capillaroscopic pattern in psoriasis. A careful insight into capillaroscopic changes in psoriasis may contribute to better understanding of microvascular disturbances.
