Ocena spożycia wybranych witamin i składników mineralnych w przedszkolnych racjach pokarmowych dzieci z terenu Koszalina

Summary
Introduction. Children aged 4-6 years consume about 75% of the daily food ration in kindergarten. This is a place where young people acquire nutritional habits which influence at large extent on acquisition of knowledge, physical activity, health and mood in adulthood. Aim. The aim of the investigations was to evaluate standards on selected vitamins and minerals in kindergarten meals in the city of Koszalin.
Material and methods. Decade menus from spring and summer seasons of 2013, from the kindergarten located in Koszalin were analyzed. The investigated food rations included three meals, in which the content of vitamins A, D, C and B group (B1, B2, B12) and minerals (calcium, magnesium, iron) were evaluated. The calculations were based on diet calculator „Alliant” and MS Office Excel.
Results. Very high deficient of intake in relation to the standards were observed for vitamin D, calcium and iron. However, in the case of vitamins A, C, B and magnesium in the diet of the children, there was a significant excess of the standards (up to 240%).
Conclusions. The results indicate the need for nutrition education among workers of kindergartens.
