Summary
Introduction. The expectations of patients according to functioning of the health care system will always have a high level. Meeting these demands is reflected in the opinion on the functioning of the system. Demand for services is high and often the system is unable to meet them. Rational benefits and patient education can significantly affect system performance, and thus to improve the opinion on its functioning.
Material and methods. The research group was 101 persons, patients obtaining public health care. Selection of the sample was random in nature. The research tool was an anonymous questionnaire, consisting of 17 opened, semi-opened and closed questions.
Results. The vast majority of respondents (71 people) is not satisfied with the functioning of the healthcare system. 86% of respondents believe that it is necessary far-reaching changes in the system. What should be stressed, only 34% of people use medical services only under the National Health Fund. 66% of the elect, in addition to benefits financed by the NHF (pol.NFZ), non-public sector.
Conclusions. Problems with getting to the doctor, may be associated with the growing dissatisfaction of patients with functioning public health care. It is reasonable and gradual introduction of comprehensive reforms in the health sector. This may result in improved access to services and improve its functioning.
