Summary
The cytotoxic activity of ether extract from fruiting bodies of P. betulinus was studied. The tested substance at concentration of mg/ml significantly decreased viability of various human tumor cell lines (thyroid carcinoma, neuroblastoma, breast carcinoma, larynx carcinoma and cervix carcinoma) in time- and dose-dependent fashion. Cell cycle anałysis revealed that antitumor activity was a result of blockade of cell cycle S-phase.
