Summary
A review consisted of two parts, with 96 references, presents the results of research on the pharmacological activity of biflavonoids. In the last years, these compounds were extensively investigated and different directions of their pharmacological action such as anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, antimicrobial, anticancer, antiallergic and other were revealed. The part II of the review focuses on anticancer, antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal and antituberculosis activity of flavonoid dimers. The influence of biflavones on some pharmacological properties of medicinal plants – Ginkgo biloba and Hypericum perforatum is being also discussed.
