Streszczenie
Secondary mechanical small bowel obstruction, developed as a late complication after a surgical procedure is a complex phenomenon, whose etiology still remains unclear. Knowledge about the mechanisms of adhesive formation and risk factors predisposing to its development may play a significant role in providing optimum treatment and prevention of intestinal obstruction due to postoperative adhesions.
