Summary
Sweat gland carcinomas are rare malignant tumors of the skin adnexa. These tumors have been reported in a variety of locations, but the most common are head and neck, trunk, upper and lower extremities. Their rarity has contributed to confusion with respect to diagnosis, classification and therapy. Because of their infrequency, descriptions of sweat glands carcinomas has commonly come in the form of case reports. Recent studies in immunohistochemical staining have better defined these tumors and have became the best indicators for prognosis and management currently avalaible. Managment of these carcinomas is difficult, because extensive study into surgical and nonsurgical treatment has not been done.
